WISP Billing Supplies

The currency of WISP and hot spot operators is the access code. Each code purchased by an Internet user can authorize Internet access through the Avansu billing authentication system. Avansu charges customers 30 cents for each authentication transaction, irrespective of the type of code.

Codes can be generated for any time duration and can be set to run to completion after the first log in, or stopped and started by the user until the duration of the code is completed. Hot spot users purchase fixed duration codes.

Managed codes can also be generated that have unlimited duration. The WISP uses the Avansu system to enable and disable the code and to track usage of the code. Last mile customers buy managed codes.

Billing supplies are access codes that are packaged in various formats, these are described below:

Code credit activation key

Code credit activation keys are purchased through Avansu partners. The activation key is purchased for the number of codes required. After log in to the WISPs account, the key is entered to set the number of codes available in a credit account. Codes can then be downloaded for printing, or consumed by credit card sales. Credit card payment codes

When the WISP chooses user payment via credit cards then an activation key must be purchased to maintain codes available for CC transactions.

Stock scratch cards

Scratch cards are manufactured by Avansu's partners and each includes the 30 cent cost of the authentication transaction. Stock cards include 1 hour, 6 hour, 1 day and 1 week durations. Please see our partner's web sites.

Custom scratch cards

Custom 'scratch' cards can be prepared by our partners with the WISP's own graphic design. Some partners also have a design service in house.

Scratch cards can be manufactured with up to four different time duration options specified by the WISP. The WISP also decides if the code will run to completion, or if the code can be paused/reused.
