How it works: BillingWISPs and hot spot operators offer Internet access services to their customers by selling access codes that are tailored to their customers requirements. Codes characteristics can be specified by WISPs. Access codes are authenticated by the Avansu B/OSS software and Avansu charges 30 cents for each code authenticated. WISPs and hot spot operators can purchase code credit keys from Avansu partners. A code credit key enables the WISP to generate a specific number of codes: the WISP chooses the characteristics of the code generated and how the code is consumed. The WISP might choose to download the codes in a CSV file for printing or consume the codes through credit card transactions. The Avansu system offers five billing strategies that will suit WISPs and other business who want to provide Internet services to customers.
A hotel, for example, can restrict free Internet access to paying guests by downloading files of 1-day access codes. Programs such as Microsoft Word can be used to print the access codes onto adhesive labels. WISP's providing last mile connectivity for rural clients can set up monthly billing. In this case an accounting software (e.g. Quickbooks) is used to send out monthly invoices. The WISP gives the customer a managed access code. A managed access code does not terminate, however the WISP can monitor access code usage and can terminate the code at any time. WISPs who provide Internet access in locations such as airports or marinas can resell pre-pay scratch cards through local points of sale and also have credit card billing. Several different types of pre-pay scratch cards are available from our partners. A WISP can also have a custom scratch card graphic design manufactured. Scratch cards can have up to four different expiration times. Each expiration time can be fixed or open. A fixed code runs to duration after logging in and cannot be suspended. The open code however permits the user to log out and use the remaining time later. For further information and a 'scratch' card sample please email our sales department via the Contact page. |
