How it works: Credit card billing

The avansu credit card processing interface sells access in modules of time. The WISP determines the duration and cost of each time module (billing rules). Access points / hot spots can have different billing rules.

WISP manage billing credit card interface

The user decides how many modules of time to purchase.

WISPs who want credit card billing require a credit card billing account with either PayPal® or Authorize.net.

Neither avansu nor avansu’s partners have any access to payments received by the WISP.

When a user makes a purchase the avansu credit card processing system sends a charge request to the WISPs credit card processor. The transaction is completed when the credit card processor informs the avansu billing system that the transaction has been completed successfully (or not).

On successful completion the user is issued an access code for the time duration purchased.

The access code is taken from a credit account pre-purchased by the WISP.

The WISP can log on to the management console to see the results of credit card processing for individual nodes and for groups of nodes. The WISP selects the time period for analysis in order to see and download a credit card processing report.

The WISP uses the report to verify the statement provided by the credit card processor. The credit card report can be cross referenced to the usage report to provide additional data in the case of charge disputes.
